Surakarta City in June 2019 Inflation of 0.45 Percent

In June 2019 Surakarta City experienced inflation of 0.45 percent with the Consumer Price Index of 131.89. This inflation is caused by an increase in prices as indicated by the increase in the consumer price index. Expenditure groups that experienced an increase in the price index, namely the foodstuffs group rose 0.67 percent, the processed food group, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco rose 0.99 percent, the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group rose 0.04 percent, the clothing group rose 0.15 percent, the health group rose 0.10 percent, the education, recreation and sports group rose 0.01 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services group rose 0.65 percent.
The inflation rate for the calendar year (January - June) 2019 is 2.00 percent, while the inflation rate for "year on year" (June 2019 against June 2018) is 2.35 percent.
Of the 6 cities in Central Java Province which calculated the inflation rate, in June 2019 all cities experienced inflation. The biggest inflation occurred in Tegal by 0.82 percent, followed by the city of Cilacap 0.75 percent, Kudus city 0.61 percent, Semarang city 0.60 percent, Purwokerto city 0.54 percent and Surakarta city 0.45 percent.
Of the 82 national CPI cities, 76 cities experienced inflation and 6 cities experienced deflation. The city that experienced the highest inflation was Manado city at 3.60 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Singaraja city at 0.02 percent. Conversely the biggest deflation occurred in the city of Tanjung Pandan, which amounted to 0.41 percent and the smallest deflation occurred in the city of Jayapura by 0.08 percent.
