Development of the Surakarta Municipality Consumer Price Index May 2024

In May 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Surakarta City will be 2.94 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.72.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.91 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.24 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.96 percent; health group at 0.68 percent; transportation group by 1.63 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.84 percent; education group of 1.66 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group was 2.17 percent and the personal care and other services group was 3.40 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group by 0.20 percent and information, communication and financial services group by 0.53 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate for Surakarta City in May 2024 was 0.19 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in May 2024 was 1.17 percent.
