Development of the Surakarta Municipality Consumer Price Index February 2024

In February 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Surakarta City was 2.82 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.02.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 8.62 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.98 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.19 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.68 percent; health group by 0.25 percent; transportation group by 1.17 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.63 percent; education group by 1.66 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group was 1.17 percent and the personal care and other services group was 2.48 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 1.44 percent.

The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Surakarta City in February 2024 was 0.61 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate for February 2024 was 0.50 percent.
