Development of the Surakarta Municipality Consumer Price Index January 2024

In January 2024, year on year (y-on-y) inflation in Surakarta City will be 2.67 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.38.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 7.49 percent; clothing and footwear group at 1.34 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.25 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.88 percent; health group at 0.58 percent; transportation group by 1.34 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.97 percent; education group by 1.66 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 1.48 percent; and the personal care and other services group at 2.89 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 1.74 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) deflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) deflation rate for the City of Surakarta in January 2024 are 0.10 percent each.
