Development of the Surakarta Municipality Consumer Price Index March 2024

In March 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Surakarta City will be 3.18 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.50.

Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 10.05 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.14 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.00 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.53 percent; health group at 0.77 percent; transportation group at 0.57 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 3.65 percent; education group by 1.66 percent; the food and beverage/restaurant provision group was 1.30 percent and the personal care and other services group was 3.05 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.86 percent.

The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate for Surakarta City in March 2024 was 0.45 percent and the year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate in March 2024 was 0.96 percent.
