Abstract

In November 2023, Surakarta City inflation will be 0.42 percent with a Consumer Price Index of 118.26. This inflation was caused by an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the consumer price index. The expenditure group that experienced an increase in the price index was: the food group. beverages and tobacco rose 1.55 percent, the clothing and footwear group rose 0.07 percent. the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group rose 0.15 percent. the recreation, sports and culture group rose 0.23 percent, the food, beverage/restaurant provision group rose 0.38 percent and the personal care and other services group rose 0.02 percent. On the other hand, the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group fell 0.07 percent. the health group fell 0.03 percent. the transportation group fell 0.26 percent and the information, communication and financial services group fell 0.17 percent. Meanwhile, the education subgroup is relatively stable.

The inflation rate for the calendar year (January-November) 2023 is 2.97 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2023 to November 2022) is 3.45 percent.

From 6 cities in Central Java Province, the inflation figures were calculated. In November 2023, all cities will experience inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the city of Semarang at 0.52 percent, followed by the city of Kudus and the city of Tegal respectively.
each amounting to 0.49 percent. the city of Cilacap and the city of Surakarta each amounted to 0.42 percent and the city of Purwokerto amounted to 0.38 percent.

From 90 national CPI cities. 79 cities experienced inflation and 11 cities experienced deflation. The city that experienced the highest inflation was the city of Bandar Lampung at 1.05 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in the city of Palopo and the city of Padangsidimpuan at 0.01 percent. On the other hand, the largest deflation occurred in the city of Tual at 0.51 percent and the smallest deflation occurred in the city of Singkawang at 0.01 percent.
