Consumer Price Index for Surakarta City 2018

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) is one of the important macroeconomic indicators to provide an overview of the changes in prices of goods and services consumed by the public. CPI data can also show a balance between demand and supply of goods and services. While the inflation figure illustrates the change in CPI that occurs in a certain time period with the previous time period.
This publication book of the Consumer Price Index for Surakarta City 2018 is an annual publication issued to provide information about CPI and its development every month in Surakarta City. From this information it can be seen the level of stability in the price development of goods and services that occur in the city of Surakarta, then from this information can be used as a basis for policy making in the procurement of goods for the community. Observation of price developments at the regional level is becoming increasingly important, especially with regard to the implementation of regional autonomy which is expected to have an impact on regional economic development.
