Abstract

In February 2020 the city of Surakarta experienced inflation of 0.41 percent with the Consumer Price Index of 103.75. This inflation is due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the consumer price index figures. Expenditures group experienced an increase in price index namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group rose 1.74 percent, the education group rose 0.04 percent, the food and beverage / restaurant supply group rose 0.99 percent and the personal care and other services group rose 0 12 percent. In contrast, the clothing and footwear group declined 0.04 percent, the housing, water, electricity and household fuel group dropped 0.02 percent, the equipment, equipment and routine household maintenance group fell 0.36 percent, the health group fell 0.19 percent, the transportation group fell 0.83 percent and the information, communication and financial services group fell 0.06 percent. While the recreation, sports and culture groups are relatively stable.
KalenderThe calendar year inflation rate (January - February) 2020 is 0.54 percent, while the year on year inflation rate (February 2020 against February 2019) is 2.43 percent.
Of the 6 cities in Central Java Province whose inflation figures were calculated, in February 2020 all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Purwokerto at 0.58 percent, followed by Cilacap city 0.49 percent, Semarang city 0.43 percent, Surakarta City 0.41 percent, Kudus city 0.39 percent and Tegal city 0.38 percent.
From 90 cities of national CPI, 73 cities experienced inflation and 17 cities experienced deflation. The city experiencing the highest inflation was Sintang by 1.21 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in the city of Pare-pare by 0.02 percent. On the contrary, the biggest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan city, which was 1.20 percent and the smallest deflation occurred in Padang Sidempuan city, by 0.01 percent.
